Game Girls is a 52-minute documentary full-length audiovisual project dedicated to the pre-adolescent audience that addresses the universe of games by the feminine point of view. The documentary has as its theme the look at three aspects of the participation of girls and women in the universe of games. The first is the story of the first women creators and programmers. The second is the creation of the female characters in the games and objectification and its evolution to more real women as characters. And the third is the struggle of girls who seek games as entertainment, both as users or developers.
The documentary will use features such as animation insertion, gameplay storytelling and electronic game environment simulation, giving comic relief to such a serious theme in order generate interest and create a dynamic dialogue with this generation.
The project won a fund for its production, Edital nº 5/2018 - Documentary Childhood and Youth of the Ministry of Culture, a governmental initiative to support the film industry in Brazil.
